2014 SCACS Soccer Tournament
Quarterfinals—the LIONS opened the tournament late Friday morning with a display of determination to advance to the next round—and in a game in which more scoring probably could have occurred, the LIONS controlled the play and defeated Conway 12-0.
Semifinals—two early goals by the LIONS and continued teamwork, ball possession and defensive pressure throughout the game proved too much for the opponent as the final step to the championship game resulted in a 4-1 win over Hampton Park Christian School.
The LIONS completed the season-long journey with a dominating performance as they defeated Oconee Christian Academy 8-0 in the championship match on the home pitch—a tremendous conclusion to an outstanding season. Midfield play was solid in directing the offensive play and defensive stops. Congratulations to Coaches Ward Jr. and Dickinson for a job well done and to Brady Taylor, Karl Walker, Donovan Lewis and Connor Gray on selection to the SCACS Soccer All-Tournament team.
2014 SCACS Volleyball Tournament
Semifinals—the Lady LIONS came out ready to play and defeated the Eagles of Northside Christian School 3-0 in the final step in reaching the championship game.
A tremendous first game by the Lady LIONS set the stage for the championship game. The Lady LIONS didn’t just show up to play—they came to win, and they did just that in a convincing manner, defeating Hampton Park Christian School 3-0. Congratulations to a great team of ladies who also happen to be a great team of volleyball players. And special congratulations to Coaches Ericson and Thornton and to Karis Tompkins and Kirstin Christmas on their selection to the SCACS Volleyball All-Tournament team.
