October 19–21 was designated International Days in the high school. International Days emphasized the need for believers to be Christlike servants in a global society. Teachers integrated cultural experiences and language activities into their daily routines, and chapel services reinforced the need to be Christ’s ambassadors to all peoples. The goal was to develop a multicultural competence that is distinctly Christian and grounded in a biblical worldview. This competence enhanced the students’ ability “to love Jesus Christ, to embrace God’s truth, to exercise integrity, to pursue excellence and to serve others.”
International Days coincided with the end of a two-week visit by students from Germany. These students lived in the homes of high school students and attended classes in the Academy. In addition to the visitors, multilingual signs were posted throughout the school and large banners were hung on Academy Main facing the quadrangle.
