On Friday, April 8, with beautiful blue skies and a cool breeze, 145 middle school students participated in their annual Jog-A-Thon. Students and teachers took to the track to raise money to purchase new iPads to update the school’s portable iPad lab. The students walked, jogged, and occasionally ran a total of 2,313 laps or 578.25 miles, which comes to an average of 4 miles per student! In addition, five teachers and their assistant principal combined for 84 laps or 21 extra miles. The overall totals were 2,397 laps or 599.25 miles! Homeroom 7-3 contributed the most laps—343—and won the highest laps/student average at 19.1. Congratulations to James McCarty for the highest individual total, 32 laps. Now comes the excitement of watching the donations from sponsors accumulate in the office!
