Congratulations to Janine D’Souza. Janine recently won the AACS state competition for middle school short story composition. Entries came in from across the state, and a panel of judges selected poetry and short story winners in elementary and middle school age divisions. Janine, an 8th-grader, earned first place for her short story mystery, “Dying Wish.” You can read this story on page four of The Lion’s Roar. Her story then went on to the AACS national competition where she placed third in the nation. She received a plaque to commemorate this important achievement.
Janine followed up this success with a victory in the schoolwide Spelling Bee. Congratulations, Janine
