What was school like in the Quadrangle forty years ago? Members of the Class of 1976 met together recently to remember and to catch up. The two-day event included a Saturday morning tour of the high school. Classmate Tom Berg led the group from building to building as they recalled what classes they took in each room. Notes to Mr. Pinkston were left on the white board in his current classroom. When the group entered Brown 106, they remembered learning from Miss Markham in that room and then were reminded that today classmate Gail Nicholas teaches there. A highlight of the tour was looking at the Heritage Display in the lobby of the Collins Building. Because most of the buildings have been torn down and rebuilt since 1976, this display was the best link to their past days at the Academy. The group posed for a photo in front of the welcoming message board in the Markham Center. Right beside that board is a sign that says, “Gift of the Class of 1976.”
On behalf of BJA, thank you to Susan Patton Hamersky and Cheryl Lucas Stevens for planning the Class of 1976 reunion.
