Three middle school students entered the Atlantic Institute’s Art and Essay Contest featuring “Looking Past Stereotypes” as the theme. The following students placed in the contest:
Charlotte Moore – 4th place
Josiah Pait – 7th place
Julia Hartzler – 10th place
The awards ceremony and a reception were held at the Booker T. Washington Auditorium at USC in Columbia. The head of the Governor’s School of the Arts was the special speaker for the ceremony. The students, along with their teacher Sandy Mehus, received cash prizes for their art pieces.
