In a banner year for achievements in speech and debate, five additional students have qualified for the Academic All American Award presented by the National Speech and Debate Association. This makes a total of six in one semester, a notable achievement.
Senior Stephen Clater qualified earlier first semester.
Senior Clark Moyer and juniors Will Goff, Ian Hamrick, Bella Sanders, and Maria Smith all received this award based on their competitive ranks and accumulation of NSDA degrees, their overall grade point averages, and their high scores on the ACT. The Academic All American Award is considered one of the highest awards earned through the NSDA.
The Speech and Debate team is coached by Chuck and Gail Nicholas.
