On September 16–17 the Academy Lions varsity soccer and volleyball teams participated in the Carolina Cup at Northside Christian in Charleston. After winning their games on Friday, both teams advanced to the championship games Saturday.
The Lions soccer team faced a tough Gospel Light Christian from Walkertown, N.C.. In a very physical match, the guys prevailed 3-0 to become tournament champs.
The Lady Lions faced the host team and quickly fell behind 2 games to none. The ladies came roaring back to stun Northside by taking 3 games in a row for the first ladies interscholastic sports trophy in the history of Bob Jones Academy!
Congratulations to the coaches, the teams and those team members coming home with all-tournament team honors—Spencer Martin, Christa Mazak, Peter Dickinson and McKinley Brown.
