Cyrano de Bergerac, by French poet-playwright Edmond Rostand, will be presented by Bob Jones University November 20–22 at 8 p.m. (http://www.bju.edu/events/fine-arts/cod/cyrano-de-bergerac.php).
Joining the BJU Classic Players are two Bob Jones Academy faculty members and several graduates. Mr. Bill Pinkston (high school biology faculty) takes on the role of Ragueneau. Mr. Chuck Nicholas (high school speech and debate faculty) plays the role of rejected actor Montfleury. Four BJA graduates are also in the large cast: Elena Taylor (Class of 2010) as Roxane; Philip Eoute (class of 2003) as de Guiche, Benjamin Nicholas (class of 2011) as Cuigy; and Margaret Stegall (Class of 2013) as a girl and a nun. Kate Schoolfield (class of 2013) and Ellis Schoolfield (Class of 2010) serve on the makeup crew.
The play is the classic love story of the long-nosed Cyrano trying to woo the beautiful Roxane. BJA high school students may attend one of the three performances or the Smart Performance (Nov. 18). Classic Players productions are a highlight of the Thanksgiving season at BJU.
